Happy New Year!

Did you set resolutions or goals for 2019? If so, keep reading because this is literally GOLD for anyone setting goals. It's how my clients have been able to successfully achieve their wellness goals.

According to statistics only 9% of people who set resolutions actually stick to them, only nine percent! :(

That means you're UNLIKELY to follow through with the resolutions you set. It’s not that you CAN’T follow through, you just probably won’t.

This is where I want to help... I want you to be the 9%! Have you ever heard of SMART goals?

SMART is an acronym used for goal setting.

It stands for:

Specific
Measurable
Achievable
Relevant
Time-Bound

In order to truly execute on your resolutions, your goal should be specific, meaning goal needs DETAILS. For example, if your goal is to lose weight you need to figure out the following details: How much weight exactly? When do you want to lose the weight by? What are you going to do to lose this weight?

Your goal should also be measurable. How do you know if you’re progressing towards your goal? Maybe it’s the number on the scale, dropping a pants size, or maybe it’s something less tangible, like becoming less obsessed with food and dieting or mastering your cravings.

Setting an achievable goals is key. Maybe you want to lose 10 pounds in a month. Sure, that sounds nice. Is that realistic though? You won't succeed if your goal is unachievable. 10 pounds over 2 or 3 months is a more realistic goal. 1 pound a week is a great start goal for weight loss.

Your goal should also be relevant. Is it the right time to take on a big diet change? Do you have someone to work with? Do you have the time and energy to make it happen and do the work?

Finally, your goal should be time bound. You should have bench marks and deadlines that will help you to stay on track towards the goal. You need a daily plan, a weekly plan and a monthly plan.
